AFRICAN TECHNOLOGY POLICY STUDIES NETWORK (ATPS) DATA PRIVACY POLICY

This privacy policy has been compiled with a view to better serve those who might be concerned with how their ‘Personally Identifiable Information’ (PII) is being used online and in this scenario by the ATPS. PII is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in a particular context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with our website.

What personal information do we collect from the people who visit our blog, website & ICE Platform?

When registering on our site, you will be asked to enter your name, email address or other details – as is required- that may help you navigate through our website

We collect information from you when you fill out a form or enter information on our site.

We may use the information we collect from you when you register, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

  • To do a follow up in matters regarding ATPS activities. 

How do we protect your information?

  • We do not use vulnerability scanning and/or scanning to PCI standards. We use regular Malware Scanning.
  • We do not use an SSL certificate
  • We do not need an SSL because we have other strategies to secure user personal data, which are equally competent. 

Do we use ‘cookies’?

We do not use cookies for tracking purposes.

You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You can do this through your browser settings. Since browsers are different, refer to your browser’s Help Menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies.

Third-party disclosure.

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your Personally Identifiable Information to outside users unless we provide users with advance notice seeking their consent. This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or serving our users, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release information when it’s deemed appropriate according to the law, enforce our site policies, or protect others’ or our rights, property or safety.

However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
