CLIMATE INFORMATION & NEEDS ASSESSMENT REPORT
The impact of climate change in African countries has been widely acknowledged. Africa has made considerable efforts over the past decade in the development of regional and national strategies and institutions aimed at supporting African countries to transition towards climate resilient and less carbon-intensive economies. At the regional level, several programmes and initiatives have been to tackle the effect and impact of climate change through the provision of robust climate information and services that support decisions and strategies for climate resilient economies. One such programme is the Climate for Development in Africa (ClimDev), a joint initiative of the African Development Bank (AfDB), African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
